A story written by Rohan Rajesh (class 5B) has been published in an Indian Childrens Magazine - Gokulam. It is about his School Annual Day experience.

The certificate is awarded to OM DESHPANDE of Class 2 C of ORCHID house for securing FIRST POSITION in the Inter-house Paper Craft Making Competition.

Nikhunj Ajay Nambiar from 6 B recieved first prize at the NUH KidsZone Art competition organised at National University Hospital on 19th March 2013.

Renee Singh, studying in Primary 6 B, was awarded the “Advanced Student Honour Roll’’ for achieving a level that is 5 years ahead of Kumon International Standard among primary 3 students for Mathematics in Singapore. She was felicitated by Kumon International at their functions at University Cultural Center , NUS last year and Yishun Orchid Country Club on 6th April 2013. She was also awarded ‘’ the most diligent student ‘.

Iniyan UthayaSankar who is studying (K2-C) in GIIS, Balestier participated in the Childrens Art Competition under Category A (3-6yrs old), held at Keat Hong Community Center of ChoaChu Kang on 20th April and he won the Trophy for securing first place. Iniyan received the winning trophy from Mr. Zaqy Mohammad, MP of ChoaChu Kang GRC.

Poorva Joshi of Class 5-D won Bronze medal under Zketeer 7-12 years mixed team event organized by Z-Fencing, Singapore in June 2012.

Ayush Prasad achieved 6th position in Interschool Chess competition held at S.N.B.P. School, Chinchwad, Pune in Feb 2012

Jery Jayakumar Sobhana participated in the colouring competion held at Midvalley on Mothers Day occasion. Around 35 children attended the competion, he was the winner. Title Award was issued by Expo Organiser.

Akshat Talreja of GIIS East Coast campus, Class 6 A designed a ROBO STRIKER, an innovative remote controlled striker for playing soccer, indoors. Akshat won 1st prize in the Category II of Power Zone at GIIS Innovation Fest 2013.

Dia Bansal, Class 1, GIIS Noida, was ed by Disney Princess academy from 360 participants from Delhi for Amazing Princess experience at Disneyland HongKong. She was part of media event covered by Aaj tak, NDTV, HongKong media.

We started reading story books for Ishaan when he was about 1 yr old. He would patiently listen to the stories and enjoy the illustrations. We discovered about his interest in books & started teaching him phonetics. He not only reads Level 1 Read it yourself story books but is also able to comprehend the story well. He even made us buy Level 2 books. We are very proud of Ishaan.

Parikshith Prabakar of class 7A was awarded second prize in debate competition held in the year 2011 on the topic Singapore schools should go paperless. Parikshith has also played the lead role as a Gini in a MUSICAL CHARITY show The Gift in Nov 2010. It was for fund raising for the treatment of children suffering from cancer. He was awarded first prize in the inter school fancy dress competition for primary schools in Jan 2009 conducted by Changat CC.

Under Rishab Jains captaincy, GIIS - EC has won the championship Howzat Under 11 Series 10 in 2012. He also contributed to his GIIS - EC team which won the under 12 championship of ACSIS cricket cup in 2012 with excellent batting and wicket keeping.

Hiranmayi won the 1st Prize in Bharatanatyam Dance (Sub-Junior Category) in the Papanasam Sivan Songs Competition held on 19th Jan 2013 in Singapore by the Sivan Fine Arts Academy, Chennai

Rubin Thomas Mathew from class 9 A , GIIS East Coast campus achieved First Dan Black Belt in Karate from Singapore Karate Association

Poorva Joshi, 9 year-old student of GIIS, Balestier – participated in the World Championship of Indoor Sky Diving.Poorva took part in the Neo-freestyle kids category competing against other participants from Singapore, Dubai and Australia and stood seventh in the overall ranking. She also attempted a new category Guinness World record for the most number of children inside wind tunnel, with 13 children flying hand-in-hand. The attempt was documented and has been submitted for verification.

Kumon organized an annual event - Advanced Students Forum to recognize and celebrate the achievements of its students at NUS, on 17-Nov-2012. Arjun Srikanth, from Class 2B, received a gold award in Mathematics from Kumon for having achieved advanced study of more than 6 years above (school level comparable) Kumon International Standard.

Vijay Siddharth of 7-E won the Kumon Gold Award for Mathematics for the fourth consective year at the Kumon National Awards ceremony held in November 2011 when he was in Class 6. Students who work on syllabus that is atleast five years ahead of their school year are awarded the Kumon Gold Award at the National Awards Ceremony. Vijay is currently working on syllabus that is seven years ahead of his school year.
